For millennia, lunar cycles played a major role in our ancestors life, from sowing crops to harvesting to choosing the best health remedies to suit our individual needs. In those times, each herb was ruled under specific planet dominion which corresponded with their physical health properties and qualities. All herbs and vegetables were sown during new moon spring/autumn season as it was believed to produce better crops.
The harvest, on other hand depended much on the parts of the plant collected, roots were usually collected in autumn after full moon and aerial parts near the full moon in the summer. Like the tides of water rising slowly around full moon and decreasing thereafter so the plants constituents were believed to be more prominent around specific lunar times and seasons.
This practice did not only allowed future herbalist to distinguish herbal remedies for a specific health conditions but also it took further to study their properties through science. We know that there are more factors contributing to plant constitutes, like soil acidity, environmental stress and geographic location, however we have not forgotten our ancestors ways. With love, respect and care we grow and harvest our own herbs and we make them into herbal remedies. We try to use as much as we can plants that we grow and substitute whenever possible with organic or wild crafted ones.
The knowledge passed down through millennia of herbs and their properties plays a fundamental role in how we practise herbal medicine today, though only some of that knowledge is partially backed up by science. Our goal is to promote that knowledge and experience with others and help to get to the root of health issues.
